Singapore InterContinental Hotel Pays Guests If It Rains

Intercontinental Singapore’s ‘Rain Resist Bliss Package’ promises its guests a unique rain insurance package for rainy days. For guests who opt for this package and experience rain during their stay, the hotel pledges to refund the cost of one night’s stay. But there’s a catch! Singapore InterContinental Hotel

It’s only available to people staying in suites — prices range from $633 a night for junior suites to upwards of $3,349 for the presidential suite, according to CNN. And, the rain must “exceed 120 cumulative minutes within any four-hour block of time during daylight hours between 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Singapore experiences a dry season from March to August and a wet season from September to February, and rain can be a common occurrence year-round. The most rain is expected during the Northeast Monsoon’s “wet phase” from November to January.

The ‘Rain Resist Bliss Package’ is strategically timed for guests visiting during the wetter months, especially from September to mid-January, when two-hour rainfalls are most frequent.  According to the hotel, the package will only be available for a limited time and guests must book ahead of their stay. The refund comes in the form of a voucher, which must be spent at the InterContinental Singapore within one week, and the amount is equivalent to one night’s stay.  The package is only applicable to guests staying in suites, with prices starting at S$850 (US$635) a night for junior suites and starting at S$4,500 (US$3,350) for the presidential suite.

Guests who book suites will also have access to Club InterContinental Lounge and the Club InterContinental benefits, along with a dedicated 24/7 butler service.  Club InterContinental guests enjoy a host of exclusive privileges, including unparalleled dining experiences. The various suite categories include one-bedroom Suites, Royal Suites, Ambassadors Suites and Presidential Suite.
