Sim Local to sell travel SIMs at US airports through InMotion partnership
Sim Local has partnered with the United States’ largest airport-based electronics retailer, InMotion, to sell local SIM cards in 125 stores across the country. The new agreement will see Sim Local provide a choice of SIM cards and plan options to international travellers looking to stay seamlessly connected while abroad, without incurring additional roaming charges.
In its first deal in North America, Sim Local, the largest seller of SIM cards in the UK travel market, will offer its products in InMotion stores from January 2021. Travellers will be able to purchase SIM cards through free-standing displays and countertop units, with all InMotion staff receiving detailed training to support customers in making informed choices.
The partnership will allow Sim Local to reach a new international audience thanks to InMotion’s unrivalled presence across the US airport network. With access and insight into the latest technologies for business and leisure travellers, InMotion offers lifestyle products and electronics that include a wide breadth of headphones, mobile power, Bluetooth speakers, cameras and travel accessories.
Andrew McClellan, Chief Business Development Officer at Sim Local, comments: “Successfully entering into the United States is the next step in Sim Local becoming the world’s largest seller of SIM cards in the global travel market.
