Samsung Wallet Begins Rollout in 13 New Markets This Year

Following its successful rollout in several key markets, Samsung Electronics announced that Samsung Wallet will expand to 13 new markets this year.

Since it first launched in June 2022, the digital wallet platform has become hugely popular in markets including China, France, Germany, Italy, Korea, Spain, the U.K. and the U.S. And now, the platform will be even more widely available for users in Bahrain, Denmark, Finland, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Norway, Oman, Qatar, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Vietnam, and UAE.

Samsung WalIet is a quick, easy, and secure way for users to organize and access important documents and identifications—from bank cards and digital keys to travel passes, driver’s licenses, and student IDs—with just one swipe. As Samsung continues to collaborate with a variety of trusted partners and developers, the capabilities of Samsung Wallet will continue to grow.

The Samsung WalIet platform is protected by Samsung’s security platform, Samsung Knox, which includes fingerprint recognition and encryption to make sure users’ important data are protected. On top of this, Samsung Wallet stores particularly sensitive documents in an isolated environment, which offers an extra layer of protection against potential digital and physical hacking attempts.

More Than a Payment Service

Samsung Wallet gives users a refined interface and one-swipe access to their payment cards, loyalty and membership cards and more. Samsung WalIet also incorporates the functionality of Samsung Pass which securely stores passwords and enables users to quickly and easily log into apps and services. It even helps users quickly monitor their digital asset portfolio by checking the value of their cryptocurrencies across various exchanges in one place. Later this year, Samsung WaIlet will also begin to support official IDs, such as mobile driver’s licences and student IDs.

Convenient Access to Home and Transportation

With the integration of SmartThings and Samsung’s partnerships with well-known home security companies, users can easily add digital home keys to conveniently lock and unlock their doors with a Galaxy device. Samsung Wallet also supports for digital automobile keys on select BMW, Genesis and Hyundai models which let users lock and unlock cars, start engines and more. And Samsung’s partnership with Korean Air allows Korean Air boarding passes to be stored in Samsung Wallet for easy access, making it simple and convenient to board a flight.

As Secure as It Is Simple, Protected by Samsung Knox

Samsung WalIet is protected by a defense-grade security platform, Samsung Knox. Protections include fingerprint recognition and encryption which help safeguard users’ sensitive data, so only the device owners can access their important information. Along with Samsung Knox, certain key sensitive items in Samsung WalIet are stored in an isolated environment — the embedded Secure Element, which also helps protect against digital and physical hacking.
