The price increase comes less than nine months after the previous hike from last August, when prices went up 20% from $5 to $6 per day for U.S. roaming.

International plan which is for 100+ countries stays 12$ per day.

According to Rogers in a statement to MobileSyrup, “Our customers love Roam Like Home and Fido Roam, and are using their services more than ever while traveling abroad,” adding “With the expansion to even more destinations and customers, the services continue to offer great value with the ease, convenience and predictability customers expect.”

Today also saw the elimination of Rogers travel packs for international roaming, while Fido Roam now is available to all postpaid customers, instead of exclusively for those on Pulse plans, nearly two years after the feature launched on the flanker brand. Rogers expanded Roam Like Home to their postpaid customers beyond Share Everything plans in late 2016, a similar two-year waiting period.

Also, new international roaming destinations were added today as well: Belize, Indonesia, Macau, Macedonia, Malaysia, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Singapore, Thailand, United Arab Emirates and Vietnam.

With the price increase to $7 per day for U.S. daily roaming, Rogers and Fido now match the price of Bell and Telus when it comes to respective U.S. daily roaming plans. However, Rogers caps the charge at 15 days per billing cycle ($105), while Telus caps at $100 and Bell at $140.

Back in January, Rogers and Fido increased the price of Roam Like Home and Fido Roam International by 20% from $10 to $12 per day.

If you’re going on vacation, you’re better off buying a local SIM card and using your unlocked smartphone, if you’re looking to save money over convenience.
