Orange Luxembourg launches two truly unlimited mobile plans – roaming in USA included
There are two popular kind of mobile offers. Each one meets specific needs.
On the one hand, there are flat-rate plans which include a determined volume of call minutes, SMS and a quantity of data to be consumed during the month. Currently, the most popular offers on the market include between 15 and 20 GB of data. These plans allow you to fully use your smartphone for very attractive prices.
On the other hand, many “unlimited” packages appeared in recent years. These meet your new uses: they allow you to listen to music or watch films and series in streaming, to make video calls and to take advantage of social networks without risking a high bill due to an overrun of the plan.

What should you look for?
- Does the mobile plan work abroad? For some offers, unlimited usage applies only on the Luxembourg territory. Others include unlimited usage throughout Europe and sometimes even in the United States. Luxembourg being a small country, you can quickly find yourself out of its borders. So make sure you can take full advantage of your plan at home, at work, on the road or while traveling.
- Is the offer really unlimited? Behind the concept of “unlimited” plans, there are hided realities. In some offers, unlimited consumption only applies to the use of well-defined applications. For others, it concerns all the data, whatever the applications used.
- What is the duration of the commitment? As said, market prices are constantly evolving. In order to take advantage of the proposed reductions it is interesting to choose a plan without commitment so you are able to change when you want.
- Are there any advantages to bundling your plans? By combining your fiber and mobile plans, you can take advantage of even better prices. In most cases, it is worthwhile to bundle all your telecom plans with the same operator.

A roaming or world pass, what for?
For all those who want to use their mobile abroad, or call abroad while keeping an eye on their consumption.
When you are abroad, the rate for calls in your plan is different, this is called roaming. And when you are in Luxembourg and call abroad, the international rate applies (see International rates).
An attractive pricing
With a Roaming Pass or an International Pass, you benefit from an advantageous rate on these communications:
- 500MB, 1GB or 3GB in 60+ destinations in the world
- Units are only charged for calls made to and from Pass Zone countries. A call from the pass zone country to Europe/Luxembourg will be charged;
- Valid 10 days. Example: I activate my pass on 2 November at 2.23pm, so it will be valid until 12 November at 2.23pm;
- Activate your pass in your Customer Area.
