Mercedes-Benz is the latest car manufacturer to climb aboard the connected car train, by offering the Mercedes Me Connect features on all its cars. The company announced that all its cars sold in 2019 will receive the features for free, while older models dating all the way back to 2007 will require an adapter to avail the features, albeit for a small ticket.

The company also announced the launch of its e-commerce portal for used cars, and eventually new cars, during the event.

The Mercedes Me Connect features are part of its attempt at digitising the entire customer and ownership experience, under the global Best Customer Experience 4.0 initiative.

Check the tank level, locate the vehicle, plan a journey or preheat the vehicle: Now even easier by app. The new Mercedes me app shows you the current vehicle status and keeps you fully up to date. Battery? Sufficiently charged. Coolant? Check. Boot and doors? Locked.

Whether it’s the mileage, tyre pressure or brake pads – as an extension of the on-board computer, the Mercedes me app provides you with a summary of all key parameters on your wrist or smartphone. With the remote access feature from your device, it takes you next to no time to unlock your vehicle, get it ready to drive or adjust the temperature using the auxiliary heater remote control.

The Send2Car function of the Mercedes Me app allows you to retrieve addresses from your favourite apps, share them or send them to your Mercedes-Benz. Thanks to the useful Car Finder, you can always find the direct route to your Mercedes-Benz even on foot: when necessary the app will show you the most direct route to your parked vehicle. And to make absolutely sure you don’t miss any important meetings, the app lets you know ahead of time if there’s any risk of congestion on the roads. Taking your desired time of arrival as a guide, a push notification informs you if you should leave earlier.
