Melita reduces roaming costs outside EU
Melita Limited customers will enjoy significantly cheaper roaming costs when travelling outside the European Union. A total of 68 countries, including Australia, Canada and the United States of America are included in the list of destinations where these new rates apply. melita roaming
Following negotiations with operators across the world, Melita mobile customers will benefit from much cheaper rates, including mobile data costs, which are now 10 cents per MB, down from €15.
Calling Malta from these countries will now cost 50 cents per minute, down from as much as €3.40 per minute. In addition to cheaper call rates, rates for SMS while roaming in the 68 countries included in the new pricing structure have also been drastically cut to 5 cents per message, down from 35 cents per message.

Roaming is now easier and more affordable
When you travel within the EU & UK you’ll be able to use your phone as you do in Malta, without extra charges, and incoming calls or SMS will be free. If your plan includes allowances for calls, SMS or data, your usage in the EU & UK will be counted exactly as if you were at home in Malta, and if you use more than your monthly allowance any charges will be charged as if you were in Malta.
However, if your plan includes free calls or SMS allowances to Melita numbers, it’s important to remember that as soon as you leave Malta you won’t be using the Melita network. Calls or SMS to Melita numbers will be deducted from any allowances of calls or SMS to other networks, or your standard rates to call or send SMS to other networks will apply.
