Specifically, according to the result measured by Speedtest software in a 5G roaming service test with partner LG Uplus, the download speed reached 72.4 Mbps, which was at an almost optimal level on Viettel’s current bandwidth and is about 10 times as fast as data velocity via 4G/LTE roaming (only 5-10 Mbps) on average.

Previously, Viettel had also become the first network operator in Vietnam to successfully roll out VoLTE service with roaming partners to provide voice service over a data network on the IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) technology platform; therefore, the user’s experience was enhanced by applying HD-quality calls. Especially with LG Uplus, voice connection time from Vietnam to South Korea was shortened to only 1-3 s, equivalent to only a fifth of the connection time of a normal voice call (8–10 s). Along with this technological upgrade, customers are able to enjoy high-quality HD voice calls as well as the superior speed of 5G roaming data.
