Hawaiian Airlines to Offer NDC Content Via Sabre

Hawaiian Airlines and Sabre Corporation have signed a new multi-year distribution agreement that will provide Sabre-connected agencies with long-term access to the carrier’s HA Connect™ NDC and traditional EDIFACT content through the Sabre travel marketplace. The agreement is expected to go live by the end of 2024.

This is significant because it means that Hawaiian Airlines will now be able to offer its full range of products and services to Sabre-connected agencies, including personalized content, dynamic pricing, and ancillary sales. This will give Sabre-connected agencies a more comprehensive view of Hawaiian Airlines’ offerings and make it easier for them to book flights and other products for their clients.

Here are some of the key benefits of this agreement:

  • Enhanced distribution for Hawaiian Airlines: This agreement will give Hawaiian Airlines a wider reach to Sabre-connected agencies, which account for a significant portion of the global travel market. This will help Hawaiian Airlines to reach more travellers and sell more of its products.
  • Improved product and service offerings: Sabre’s NDC platform will allow Hawaiian Airlines to offer its full range of products and services to Sabre-connected agencies, including personalized content, dynamic pricing, and ancillary sales. This will give Sabre-connected agencies a more comprehensive view of Hawaiian Airlines’ offerings and make it easier for them to book flights and other products for their clients.
  • Greater efficiency and cost savings: Sabre’s NDC platform will also make it easier for Hawaiian Airlines to manage its distribution relationships and reduce costs. This will free up resources for Hawaiian Airlines to focus on other areas of its business, such as customer service and product development.

Overall, this agreement is a win-win for both Hawaiian Airlines and Sabre. Sabre will gain access to a wider range of products and services from Hawaiian Airlines, while Hawaiian Airlines will gain a wider distribution network and a more efficient way to manage its distribution relationships. This agreement is a step forward in the evolution of the travel industry and will help to improve the travel experience for consumers.

“We are very pleased to have reached an agreement with Sabre to expand our long-standing distribution partnership to not only EDIFACT but also HA ConnectTM content once the technical connectivity has been implemented,” said Brent Overbeek, executive vice president and chief revenue officer at Hawaiian AirIines. “Hawaiian Airlines is continuously expanding the distribution options and content available to the travel agency community, and NDC is one of the key enablers of that. This agreement will enable Sabre’s travel agents across the globe to access our rich HA Connect™ NDC content.

Sabre powers a constantly expanding marketplace of travel content. Through its network of agencies and corporations worldwide, Sabre enables airlines to market their fares and offers in a highly efficient way.

“We are happy to support Hawaiian Airlines in their NDC journey and help them unlock new revenue streams while adding even more value for the traveler,” said Roshan Mendis, chief commercial officer at Sabre Travel Solutions. “This agreement is another proof point of our commitment to powering travel retailing while meeting the unique needs of our airline customers and our travel buyer partners.”

This new agreement also provides closure to the litigation between both companies.
