Fastweb launches ‘Fastbox’ SIM card machines
With the expansion of the fixed and converged offers, Fastweb declares itself to be the first operator on the market to exploit the potential of self-service stations (located within shopping centers and public establishments) to reach its customers, not only with mobile solutions but with the entire offer portfolio.
The fixed and convergent offers can currently be subscribed to at the FASTboxes located in the shopping centers of Orio al Serio (BG), L’Aquilone in Genoa, Auchan in Casal Bertone (Rome), Panorama in Rome Tiburtina, Pescara Nord in Città Sant’Angelo (PE), in the Cadorna train station in Milan, inside the “food” district of Piazza Portello and Pam Sabotino in Milan, Coop Gavinana (FI) and at the Fastweb Stores in via Dante in Milan and in via Cola di Rienzo in Rome. The plan to expand the fixed and convergent offers available at the self-service stations will continue in the coming weeks. The complete list of all the FASTboxes present in the area is available at the following link: https://www.negozi.fastweb.it/it/fastbox/
As pointed out by the operator, through the choice to expand the available solutions, Fastweb also intends to
“respond to the growing need of consumers to have fixed, ultra-fast and high-performance connectivity to be able to meet the new connectivity needs that emerged in this emergency period. ” .
As for mobile, subscribing to a fixed or convergent offer through FASTBox requires a few steps. The customer must simply have an identity document with him and follow the indications that appear on the display by selecting the desired offer and entering his personal data and the chosen payment method, which will be “managed in full compliance with the privacy legislation,” and finally make a video of recognition.
Fastweb’s move into SIM vending machines is part of their broader strategy to enhance user accessibility and streamline the purchasing process for both local and international travelers. These vending machines are placed in key locations like airports, shopping malls, and high-traffic public areas, making them an appealing option for those in need of immediate connectivity.
How Fastweb’s SIM Card Vending Machines Work
- Locations: Fastweb has installed these machines in high-traffic areas like airports, shopping malls, and transit hubs across Italy. This makes it easy for locals and travelers to purchase SIM cards as needed.
- Automatic Dispensing: Customers can use the machine to select and purchase a SIM card, which will then be dispensed immediately. The machines are designed to support both Italian and international customers.
- Available Plans: These machines offer a variety of SIM card options, including local plans for Italian users and international roaming plans for travelers. The plans cater to data, voice, and text needs, depending on the customer’s choice.
- No Human Interaction: The process is fully automated, from choosing the plan to receiving the SIM card. This reduces wait times and the need for staff assistance, allowing for 24/7 availability.
- Instant Activation: In some cases, customers can activate their SIM cards directly through the machine or via an online process afterward, making it convenient for travelers who need quick connectivity.
