According to a study by cable.co.uk, Switzerland has the second highest average broadband prices in Europe, after Iceland. The study found that the average broadband price in Switzerland is $69.87 per month, which is significantly higher than the average in most EU countries.

In terms of mobile data prices, a study by cable.co.uk found that Switzerland has the 16th highest average mobile data prices in the world, with an average price of $8.16 per gigabyte (GB). The merger of Sunrise and UPC marks a significant restructuring of the Swiss broadband market, and it blurs the distinction between telecommunications providers and cable network operators.

However, looking at broadband providers as a whole (CATV, DSL and FTTx) Swisscom remains far ahead of its closest competitors, with a market share of 49.5%.Sunrise UPC’s market share is around 28.5%. As a reminder, Sunrise occupied 13.1% and UPC 15.6% in 2020. Other cable network operators accounted for approximately 13% of the market, including Quickline’s 4%. Other telecom providers came in at 5% and Salt at 4%.
