The Deutsche Glasfaser group of companies mainly plans, builds and operates open-fiber direct connections for private households and companies. It is privately involved nationwide for broadband coverage in rural regions. With innovative planning and construction methods, Deutsche Glasfaser implements FTTH network connections quickly and cost-efficiently in close cooperation with the municipalities – also within the framework of existing funding programs for nationwide broadband expansion.

In 2020, the experienced fiber optic investors EQT and OMERS founded the group of companies as owners through a merger of the network providers inexio and Deutsche Glasfaser. With a total available investment volume of 7 billion euros, 6 million fiber optic connections are to be expanded across Germany in the medium term. As an FTTH provider with the largest number of contract customers, Deutsche Glasfaser is the market leader in Germany.
