ETECSA announces new rates for international calls and roaming
The state-owned ETECSA, a telecommunications monopoly in Cuba, announced that since March a regulation has come into effect that will reduce and simplify the tariffs of some international telecommunications services for legal persons.
According to the company’s website, modified services include international long distance calls originated from landline and mobile phones, calls by Operator, short messaging (SMS), Inmarsat and roaming.
“As of March 1, 2019, the rates of international telecommunications services offered to the business sector are reduced and simplified, in accordance with the provisions of Resolution No. 15/2019 of the Ministry of Communications,” the statement said.
Regarding the type of customers to whom the new tariffs for these services are applicable, ETECSA clarified that these are the legal entities, which include state-owned companies, non-governmental organizations, institutions and cooperatives.

According to the note, international (automatic) long distance calls will now be added five (00.5) cents equivalent to the pulse for the establishment of the communication.
The valuation for international (automatic) long distance minutes is for time at intervals of ten (10) seconds, with approximation by excess, the company detailed.
Both for customers served by analog centers and digital centers, calls per operator will have a minimum duration of three minutes, and after these, the additional minute begins to be charged;Â If it is done from person to person, an extra minute is charged.
