Digi Hungary to restrict access to roaming for new customers

As of June 1, Digi will introduce new restrictive measures regarding certain services offered by the company to new mobile subscribers, according to the information posted on the company’s website . Thus, some new DigiMobil customers may have limited or no access to certain international services (international calling, roaming) or mobile shopping services (SMS parking and toll payment) during the first four months after signing the subscription. More about Ddigi Hungary roaming below.

According to the prospectus, the international calling facility is automatically and free of charge available to all subscribers who have activated a service before 31 May 2021. For subscriber contracts concluded after June 1, 2021, calls to the international 2-3-4 toll zone will be activated by the service provider after the 4th month following the activation of the service, if the subscriber so requests.

It is also clear from the published text that for the first four months after the subscription, Digi, Invitel fixed (cable) or Digi satellite service with the same contract number or without a subscription with a new service or services In addition to the above-mentioned international calls, roaming and Mobile Shopping services are not available either, the Service Provider activates them after the 4th month after the subscription has been concluded – also in case of the subscriber’s request.

The changes will therefore mainly affect those who do not have any fixed or satellite service from Digit, They will certainly not be able to use their subscription abroad (in any toll zone) this summer, and they will only be able to access roaming if they request it later from service provider.

Digi, which works with an extremely depressed monthly fee compared to market conditions, is the only service provider in Hungary that uses a roaming minute fee different from domestic minute rates in tariff zone 1, but the relevant EU roaming regulation allows the service provider to do so under certain conditions. digi hungary roaming
