The initiative, currently live in 36 7-Eleven Go operated self-service kiosks and 12 7-Eleven stores, provides passengers with access to snacks and drinks at any time of the day or night, filling a crucial gap in service when shops and restaurants are closed outside of normal trading hours.

With plans for further expansion and a goal to roll out to all iCoupon-integrated airports, the convenience of 24/7 access to refreshments will soon be available to travellers worldwide.

Unlocking New Revenue Streams

For retailers and airports, this industry first offers new avenues for revenue generation as well as airlines, which might be able to offer more options to its passengers who might need food and drink in the event of delays or disruption.

The technology behind the new venture has been provided by software and hardware integration specialists Instant Systems.

The company’s hardware and software solutions work in conjunction for a “smooth transition” to digital vouchers, for both passengers and retailers.

Richard Bye, CEO of iCoupon, said: “The partnership between iCoupon, Copenhagen Airport and 7-Eleven Go marks a significant step in enhancing the passenger experience at one of Europe’s most prestigious airports. We’re seeing more and more vending machines in the airport space, and this new enterprise taps into the demand from passengers for ever more choice and convenience. Giving passengers the option to redeem vouchers at vending machines is very much a win-win for everyone.”

Michael Clausen, director of the shopping centre at Copenhagen Airport, said: “We’re really excited to give our passengers more flexibility and choices at Copenhagen Airport with iCoupon at 7-Eleven Go. 7-Eleven Go is a new concept providing passengers with a wide selection of food and beverages in smart and convenient fridge vending machines 24/7 around the airport. Being the first airport to do this, we hope others will see the benefits and follow our lead to improve the travel experience for our passengers.” Copenhagen Airport 24/7 vending machine access

Lasse Bundgaard, business development manager at 7-Eleven Go, said: “This collaboration is bringing value to us in the development of our vending machine experience in CPH. This partnership isn’t just about convenience; it’s about reshaping the way travellers interact with our services and enhancing their overall experience. We’re looking forward to seeing the results of the new partnership.

Johan Snygg, CTO at Instant Systems, said: “Being part of innovations like this, which aim to improve traveller service and experience at the airport during disturbances, is very fulfilling. Working alongside companies that share our commitment to excellence and innovation, like iCoupon and notable brands such as 7-Eleven, has been very rewarding. We’re genuinely excited for Copenhagen Airport as the groundbreaker in implementing such initiatives and we’re very much looking forward to seeing this initiative expand much further,” he said.

Ryanair Deepens Their Partnership with iCoupon

Ryanair furthers its partnership with iCoupon following the adoption of the intelligent vouchering provider’s AutoPay solution.

Introduced 2 years ago, AutoPay approved iCoupon to settle retailer invoices automatically on the airline’s behalf by consolidating all invoices from all retailers into a single bill for the airline whilst doing the same for the retailers. No pre-funding is required.

Ryanair said, “With the expansion of iCoupon across our growing network, AutoPay allows us to streamline retailer bills with just 1 invoice per month from iCoupon.”

Richard Bye, CEO of iCoupon said “AutoPay has revolutionized the back-end billing for our airlines, meaning we pay all retailers on guaranteed payment dates and collect one simple payment from the airline.  This is great for the airline as there is no pre-funding required, so they only ever pay for what the passengers spend, and on agreed payment terms, keeping outgoing to a minimum and removing the guesswork. It’s the best of both worlds.
Ryanair was our first-ever customer and for them to continue to invest in new solutions with us is a great demonstration of the strength of our partnership over the years.Copenhagen Airport 24/7 vending machine access
