As a result of this agreement, AT&T and Panasonic Avionics, through its wholly owned subsidiary Aeromobile Communications Ltd. (Aeromobile), will deliver end-to-end connectivity to airline passengers providing an extra dimension to the in-flight connectivity experience.

Now passengers that have added AT&T International Day Pass (“IDP”) to their line(s) can use their mobile devices on aircraft equipped with Panasonic Avionics mobile solutions for only the same daily fee as they would be charged in any other IDP destination. With IDP, passengers can connect to the Aeromobile service and enjoy high-speed data, calls and texting as they do on their plans at home for $10/day. Additional lines used the same day only pay a $5 daily fee.

This development follows an increase in data consumption across Panasonic Avionics’ in-flight mobile network in 2022, compared to pre-pandemic levels. As air travel continues to recover, mobile network operators around the globe such as AT&T are creating compelling retail propositions, driving in-flight roaming usage and adoption.

Through its subsidiary Aeromobile, Panasonic Avionics joins forces with mobile operators around the world to include in-flight roaming in compelling retail propositions like their mainstream packages, to improve the travel experience for their subscribers.

John Wade, Vice President of In-flight Connectivity at Panasonic Avionics said: “We are delighted to partner with AT&T and provide a new dimension to staying in touch for their customers. We have seen mobile network operators around the globe — especially the Middle East, Europe, and Asia — launch compelling in-flight retail offers, and we’re excited that operators in the U.S. are now embracing the overseas in-flight connectivity market.” att daily roaming pass

Panasonic Avionics’ in-flight mobile service operates in conjunction with its worldwide in-flight Wi-Fi service to provide passengers with a range of payment and connection options in several markets.

About AT&T daily roaming pass

Here’s how International Day Pass works:

  • Access your eligible plan in 210+ destinations with unlimited talk, text, and high-speed data;
  • Pay $10/day for your first line;
  • Get additional lines for $5/day each if used in the same day;
  • Only pay for the days you use, no extra charge after 10 days per line, per bill

Adding to your line:

Consumer customers: You can add International Day Pass (“IDP”) before you travel or AT&T will automatically add IDP to your line if (i) you have not added IDP and do not have another international feature on your line; and (ii) you use an eligible smartphone while traveling in an IDP country not included in your domestic rate plan.  If we add IDP to your line, we will send you an SMS. Once added, IDP will stay on your line until you remove it at att.com/myatt or by calling 833-596-1893.

Business and government customers: can add IDP for Business before their Corporate Responsibility User (“CRU”) travels or, for business customers only, AT&T will automatically add IDP for Business to the CRU line if (i) the business customer has not added IDP for Business and does not have another international feature on the CRU line; (ii) the CRU uses an eligible smartphone while traveling in an IDP country not included in their domestic rate plan, and (iii) the CRU incurs at least 5MB in international data roaming usage at pay-per-use rates (see att.com/intlppurates). Once added, IDP for Business will stay on the CRU line until the business customer removes it using online self-service (att.com/myAT&T or att.com/Premier, as applicable), by calling 800-331-0500, or by contacting their AT&T account representative.

Daily fee: The first time you use data, make or receive a call, or send a text message in an IDP Destination, you’ll automatically be charged a $10 daily fee. When more than 1 line on your account is charged a daily fee on the same calendar date, 1 line will be charged a $10 daily fee and each additional line will be charged a reduced daily fee of $5. Calendar date is determined by your local U.S. time zone, not the country you visited. The line charged $10 is not necessarily the line used first on that date. Text messages received are rated as domestic and do not trigger a daily fee. The daily fee covers additional data, calls, and text messages for 24 hours from the initial use in any IDP Destination. You’ll be charged an additional daily fee for all subsequent 24-hour periods in which you use data, make or receive a call, or send a text message in an IDP Destination, unless you remove IDP.

Charge cap: You’ll be charged a maximum of 10 daily fees per line, per monthly bill cycle. After 10 daily fees on a line, that line may continue to use IDP through the end of the bill cycle at no additional charge.

Business and government customers: with IDP for Business are not eligible for the reduced daily fee or the charge cap.

Destinations: Includes usage in over 210 destinations listed at att.com/globalcountries and on select AeroMobile® enabled international flights. Coverage is not available in all areas. Destinations and rates are subject to change without notice. Mexico and Canada: You will not be charged a daily fee in Mexico or Canada if you have a domestic plan that includes usage in Mexico or Canada. Latin America: AT&T Unlimited Premium and Unlimited Elite customers will not be charged a daily fee in any of the Latin America countries that are included in their plan. See att.com/roamlatam for a list of included countries.

AeroMobile® cellular network on select airlines: For a list of participating airlines and aircraft, go to https://www.aeromobile.net/airlines/. Airlines and aircraft are subject to change without notice. Passengers of qualifying airlines are not guaranteed to be on a flight with mobile coverage. Device must be on, with Airplane Mode and Wi-Fi turned off and data roaming and cellular data turned on to use the AeroMobile network. AeroMobile service is available only at greater than 200 nautical miles outside of the U.S. border and above 20,000 feet cruising altitude. In the event of satellite interruption or regulatory constraint, AeroMobile services may be disrupted or disabled. att daily roaming pass

Data: Data will be drawn from your domestic plan allowance with the same data and speed restrictions. If your domestic plan includes Stream Saver®, it will apply to your international package or feature. See att.com/streamsaver for more details.

Data overage: If you go over the amount of data in your qualified domestic plan, overage charges or data speed reduction of up to 128Kbps apply in accordance with the terms of your domestic plan. If your data speed is slowed, all your data use, including audio and video streaming, picture and video messaging, and other types of data use will be impacted and may not work.

Incidental data usage: Apps on your device use data even when you may not be aware. Such usage may trigger the daily fee. To avoid unintended use of IDP, turn off cellular data roaming in your device settings. att daily roaming pass
