The number of Swedes visiting popular overseas destinations is close to pre-pandemic levels, and is higher in certain ones, it said. At Christmas 2021 and the turn of the year, roaming traffic in Thailand shot up by over 2,500 percent compared with the same period the year before.

Many Swedes chose to go abroad during the last weeks of 2021 and at the beginning of 2022. According to the mobile operator Tres’ survey, travel increased significantly to all seventeen countries surveyed.3 sweden roaming Thailand

In the Swedes’ favorite destinations, the number of Swedish tourists is now approaching the levels before the pandemic. The week after New Year, even more Swedes traveled to Denmark, Spain, France, Croatia and Italy than during the corresponding week in 2020, before the start of the pandemic.

We see that Swedes continue to travel abroad. For example, the number of Swedes in Thailand during the closing weeks of 2021 was several thousand percent more than during the same period in 2020.
