3’s customers are now using significantly more data during their summer vacations compared to previous years. The recent internal report shows a rise in data consumption among customers utilizing the 3LikeHome service. This feature enables them to roam freely without additional charges in 73 countries, treating mobile data usage abroad the same as in Denmark.
Insights into Travel Patterns and Preferences
The data provide interesting insights into the travel patterns of 3’s customers during their vacations abroad. Notably, there is a higher interest in traveling to Eastern European countries this year. Macedonia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, and Hungary saw between 10-30% more roaming customers compared to last year. Søren Rinnov Østergaard, Director of Private Customers at 3, attributes this trend to the indispensable nature of mobile phones during travel. From entertainment to navigation, translation, and payments, mobile phones have become essential tools for holidaymakers. Consequently, data usage during the peak summer season is now 30% higher than last year.
