The new type of IP interconnection will work in parallel with the current interconnection solution, ensuring all calls are answered, regardless of the technical conditions used.

SNUAU interconnection technology 112 romania

Following the steps initiated by the Special Telecommunications Service (STS) for the modernization of SNUAU, the centralized computer system for receiving and dispatching calls to 112 will use an infrastructure based on a new type of interconnection, respectively, interconnection based on IP technology.
Thus, ANCOM proposes to redefine the interconnection conditions between SNUAU and Telekom Romania, by using IP technology, in order to take over the emergency calls and the location information corresponding to them. For example, IP interconnection must be achieved through private and secure data links, ensuring redundancy both physically and logically.

The points for receiving and dispatching emergency calls

The SNUAU modernization project also provides for the modernization of emergency call reception and dispatching points, with the introduction of 112 national centers that ensure the reception and processing of emergency calls.
Consequently, the draft decision of ANCOM provides for the location of interconnection points based on IP technology within the 112 National Centers in Bucharest, Brașov, and Sibiu. Thus, in the event that at least one National Center 112 is not functional, the automatic rerouting of traffic to the available centers will be ensured. Also, each interface of IP interconnection equipment will ensure a capacity of 1 Gbit / s, and each interconnection point will ensure the transport of traffic nationwide for at least 1500 sessions (calls) simultaneously and the processing of at least 200 sessions (calls) per second. 112 in romania
