German MVNO 1&1 said it’s expanded LTE roaming options for its customers, in cooperation with network partner Telefonica. 1&1 4G roaming

From now on, LTE roaming for 1 & 1 customers in more countries worldwide is possible. Since July 2019, the number of countries in which fast data services with LTE speed can be used has increased further. In 142 countries and 230 global networks, our customers benefit from the fast LTE standard.

This means that users are always optimally networked on vacation or during a stay abroad, almost everywhere in the world. 1 & 1 customers can use the LTE connection overseas when surfing the Telefónica network at home with a 1 & 1 All-Net-Flat or 1 & 1 Data-Flat.

The company claims this is the largest LTE roaming coverage of all German mobile service providers worldwide.

In order to access the Telefónica network abroad, automatic network operator selection must be activated. In addition, it is necessary for the settings of the respective terminal to turn on the option “Data Roaming”.

The data usage abroad is initially blocked at the border crossing.
