AI Concierge: A Voice That Knows You
Virgin Atlantic has become the first European airline to deploy OpenAI’s voice technology in its mobile app, through a collaboration with enterprise AI firm Tomoro. This innovation allows travelers to speak directly to the Virgin Atlantic app to get assistance with trip planning, flight details, airport navigation, and more.
Instead of tapping through menus or typing out questions, passengers can now ask naturally spoken questions like, “What time is my flight from Heathrow?” or “How do I get to the Upper Class Wing?” The assistant responds in a conversational, human-like tone, mimicking real dialogue and delivering personalized responses based on the traveler’s needs.

This hands-free concierge service, dubbed Your Virgin Atlantic Concierge, is multilingual and designed to improve over time through user interactions. For passengers, it’s an AI that speaks their language — literally and emotionally.
Streaming-Quality Wi-Fi at 30,000 Feet
Beyond digital tools, Virgin Atlantic is upgrading the in-flight experience with something every traveler dreams of: reliable, fast, and free Wi-Fi. Starting in 2026, the airline will begin installing Starlink satellite internet across its entire long-haul fleet. Provided by SpaceX, Starlink offers streaming-quality speeds — fast enough to video call, stream movies, or work remotely mid-air.

- Ten new Airbus A330-900neos will join the fleet from 2026, each outfitted with 48 Upper Class seats, 56 Premium seats, and 128 in Economy. Importantly, these aircraft will now feature six Retreat Suites — the airline’s most exclusive in-flight offering, expanding from the current four per aircraft.
- All 14 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners will be refurbished beginning in 2028. The redesigned layout includes 44 Upper Class seats, 56 Premium seats, 127 Economy seats, and an entirely new Retreat Suite cabin with eight private suites — the largest configuration of its kind in the fleet.

By the end of 2025, Virgin Atlantic will launch a completely redesigned mobile app. This app will unify flight bookings, holiday packages, loyalty programs, and real-time travel information into one smooth interface.
The app will include personalization tools, intuitive navigation, and seamless integration with both iOS and Android devices. Travelers will be able to check flight statuses, manage itineraries, receive instant updates, and engage with the new AI concierge — all from a single platform.
The upgrade extends to Virgin’s Flying Club loyalty program as well. A new multi-year recognition program is in development to reward frequent flyers who maintain consistent engagement, even if they travel less often.
