O2 Czech Pushes the Limits with Datamania 1200 GB

O2 Czech is taking mobile data plans to a new level with its latest Datamania 1200 GB tariff, giving users more control over how—and when—they use their data.

The new plan caters to two very different types of users: those who burn through data daily and those who need it only occasionally.

“Some customers use data regularly, others only occasionally. We’ve created a tariff that covers these different needs and growing data consumption,” said Silvia Cieslarová, Director of Mobile Services at O2. “At the same time, we’re offering price advantages to those who have an annual subscription.”

Annual Plan: 1200 GB Upfront and a Better Price

The Datamania 1200 GB annual plan is designed for heavy users who prefer to pay once and forget about it. For a one-time payment of 2,988 CZK, users get the full 1.2 TB of 5G data upfront—ready to use anytime during the year.

O2 breaks it down to an average of 249 CZK per month for 100 GB, a serious value in the Czech market. Customers can also add unlimited calls for just 15 CZK per day, making it a well-rounded deal for those living online.

This introductory price is valid until November 13, 2025, and the SIM (or eSIM) must be activated by December 31, 2025.

Monthly Option: 100 GB for 349 CZK

For users who prefer flexibility, O2 also offers a monthly plan with 100 GB for 349 CZK—down from the regular 449 CZK. Over a year, the difference adds up: annual subscribers save 1,200 CZK compared to the monthly option.

Whether you’re a frequent traveler, a streaming addict, or just tired of running out of data mid-month, both plans bring a real sense of freedom.

Simple Setup with eSIM or Physical SIM

Ordering Datamania is refreshingly easy. You can choose an eSIM, delivered instantly via email, or a physical SIM card, shipped free to your mailbox. Activation takes just a few taps in the My O2 app, where you can set up regular monthly payments or make a one-time annual payment.

How It Stacks Up: Market Trends & Real Value

O2’s Datamania 1200 GB joins a growing wave of data-first plans across Europe. While operators like Vodafone and T-Mobile Czech Republic have been cautious about introducing high-capacity bundles, O2’s move mirrors trends seen in countries such as Finland and Sweden, where operators like DNA and Telia have normalized massive or even unlimited data plans.

In a market where 10–50 GB was once considered “premium,” O2’s approach signals a shift toward true digital freedom, aligning with rising mobile video use, cloud storage, and remote work habits.

By offering the full 1200 GB upfront, O2 cleverly balances flexibility with predictability—an advantage that frequent travelers and digital nomads will appreciate. It also undercuts many European competitors on cost per GB, positioning O2 as one of the most competitive 5G data providers in the region.

Final thoughts

O2’s Datamania 1200 GB isn’t just another “big data” tariff—it’s a smart move that acknowledges how people actually use data today: unevenly, across devices, and often outside traditional bundles.

Compared to standard European offerings, O2’s 2,988 CZK annual deal represents strong value for money and a user-centric design. It may also push competitors in Central Europe to follow suit with larger, more flexible data allowances.

If the Datamania model proves successful, it could become the blueprint for next-gen tariffs—where data volume, not minutes, defines the customer experience.
