Verizon To Launch The World’s First Commercial 5G Service October 1
There’s been a lot of buzz about 5G lately, and for good reason; the technology holds the promise to change the way we live, work and play. 5G is not an incremental improvement over 4G, it’s a revolutionary new technology that requires a new approach in designing and deploying networks. And as 5G rolls out, you will see differences in the capabilities of various deployments. Verizon is first in the world to provide a commercial 5G service, with plans for rapid broadband internet, and 5G mobility service. verizon Commercial 5G
After several years of development and testing, Verizon has announced the rollout date for its next-generation 5G service. For residents of Sacramento, Los Angeles, Houston, and Indianapolis, 5G-powered broadband internet for the home will launch on October 1.
As of 8am ET today, U.S. consumers can visit FirstOn5G.com to order Verizon’s 5G Home service and sign up to be a “First On 5G” Member. As a “First On 5G” Member, consumers will receive updates on when 5G is coming to their area and stay up to date on 5G-related news and offers, including the launch of Verizon’s 5G mobility service.

Built on Verizon’s Ultra Wideband 5G network, 5G Home is the first 5G broadband internet service available to consumers.
After that introductory period, current Verizon Wireless customers with a qualifying smartphone plan will pay $50 per month for the service, while non-Verizon Wireless customers will pay $70 per month. This monthly charge includes all taxes and fees, and does not require an annual contract. There are no additional hardware costs. Verizon 5G Home customers should expect typical network speeds around 300 Mbps and, depending on location, peak speeds of nearly 1 Gig, with no data caps. Verizon 5G Home is ideal for consumers looking to “cut the cord” or upgrade from their current cable service.
But starting Thursday, even consumers who live outside the initial launch cities can sign up at FirstOn5G.com to become “First On 5G” Members. You’ll receive updates on when 5G is coming to you, and we’ll keep you apprised of 5G-related news and offers, including the launch of Verizon’s 5G mobility service.
