Telenor Connexion extend its global IoT subscription with local access in restricted countries
Telenor Connexion extends its offer for global managed connectivity to include access in countries that currently have restrictions for the use of global SIM cards. With the new solution a local SIM profile is provided for the global SIM card, in a seamless way for enterprises, without having to deal with multiple suppliers and several technical solutions in different parts of the world.
As connected devices are getting increasingly important around the world, the demand is growing for highly qualitative and seamless connectivity without patches.
Global mobile connectivity is using international roaming to allow devices to move freely from one country to the next, all around the world. In countries where permanent roaming is restricted, local access is currently supplied separately.
For global enterprises that demand quality and standardized solutions, it is challenging finding one technical solution without the lock-in effects, that cover all their needs as well as reduces the complexity by simultaneously having to deal with multiple suppliers in different parts of the world.
Thanks to industry standards such as EUICC having matured, it is now possible to provide managed local access using standardized technology and industry-grade quality, ensuring a future-proof solution, whilst also limiting vendor lock-in effects.
Telenor Connexion will extend its global connectivity offer to include managed local access in countries that currently have these restrictions. For enterprises, this offers benefits such as:
- A dramatic simplification of the supply chain by using only one SIM card which manages both global and local access
- Ensuring reliability and a future-proof solution
- One vendor (Telenor Connexion) takes responsibility to ensure the quality required for large scale deployments, service levels, support and security
- Simplification in the implementation and operation
- Local access through a locally authorized MNO/MVNO partner
Mats Lundquist, CEO, Telenor Connexion, “By extending our global managed connectivity service to encompass also local managed connectivity in restricted regions, customers now need only one connectivity point of contact and can enjoy our service excellence offerings, regardless of which country”.
Further Lundquist says “We can now offer the market a solution to address local roaming restrictions without international enterprises having to compromise on quality of service or experiencing increased internal workload”.
Telenor Connexion will launch this extended offering ‘Global Subscription with Local Access’ starting with Brazil as the first country on September 10, 2020.
