Tele2 IoT, Lenovo Connect Push eSIM for IoT

Tele2 IoT and Lenovo Connect have formed a strategic partnership to help global businesses deploy and manage connected devices at scale, with automotive singled out as a priority vertical. Announced in Shanghai on June 25, 2026, it combines Tele2 IoT’s 190+ country managed connectivity footprint with Lenovo Connect’s connectivity management, unified endpoint management and eSIM capabilities.

 

The bigger story is not another “global IoT” logo pairing. Enterprises are moving away from SIM cards, roaming agreements and regional fixes. They want one operational layer that can keep devices online after they leave the factory, cross borders and remain manageable for years.

“This partnership strengthens our ability to support customers expanding globally, especially in automotive, where dependable connectivity is essential for connected vehicles and beyond. Having previously invested in a strong local team in China, this partnership is an important milestone for us to grow even further in Asia,”

Why automotive is the right test

Automotive is a logical first battleground because connected vehicles are not simple mobile devices. A car may need telematics, infotainment, emergency services, diagnostics, OTA updates and fleet visibility over a lifecycle that can stretch beyond ten years.

This is where the Tele2-Lenovo Connect combination becomes more than a coverage story. Tele2 IoT brings operator-grade connectivity and roaming experience. The SGP.32 angle matters too. Earlier in 2026, Tele2 IoT launched an end-to-end SGP.32 solution with IDEMIA Secure Transactions and Cisco, designed to let businesses provision and manage connected devices worldwide from a single platform and eSIM SKU. GSMA’s SGP.32 specification is built for remote provisioning and management of eUICCs in IoT devices that may be network-constrained or have limited user interfaces. What could be clearer is the commercial packaging. Is this a joint solution, a platform integration, a China-Europe automotive bridge, or a broader enterprise IoT framework? Buyers will still want use cases, migration paths and proof that “simpler IoT” is not just a nicer slide.
