The Palestinian Territories in the Levant region of the Middle East consist of two physically separate entities, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip which are disputed between Palestine and Israel. All are currently universally considered parts of Palestine although recognition as a sovereign nation varies by country. The West Bank, administered by the Palestinian Authority, has been under Israeli occupation since 1967; Gaza, under Hamas control and at odds with the PA in the West Bank, is under an Israeli-Egyptian blockade.
WARNING: Some western governments have issued a severe travel warning against travelling to Palestine, due to violent incidents and armed conflict that can occur at any time.
