Sunrise introduces eSIM download for Swype brand

swype is the first Swiss provider to launch a digital eSIM that is downloaded and installed directly on the smartphone – without needing a QR code or any other inconvenient procedure

Innovation from swype goes on. We have further optimized this simple digital mobile offer and added the eSIM function. For our customers this means 100% digital onboarding – completely without paperwork, postal delivery or contact with customer service,” says Christoph Richartz, Chief YOL Officer Sunrise UPC.

The eSIM function is now available to customers at no charge, without scanning a QR code or any other procedure. This makes it even easier to put swype, which is available exclusively on a mobile phone or tablet via the swype app (Apple Store / Google Play Store) into operation. A few minutes are all it takes to place the order and already make the first call with swype: Download the app, request the free eSIM right on the device, digitally confirm identity in the app, select the desired rate (daily or monthly rate), and pay securely with TWINT or credit card.

Installation of the eSIM is also secure because customers do not transmit any data by e-mail, for example. Another advantage of the eSIM: Customers can now also use swype on devices that do not have a SIM card slot, such as smart watches or tablets.

In addition to a completely digital customer experience, swype offers a national flat rate for calls and Internet use. The tariff structure is simple and transparent: Customers choose in advance whether they would like to use swype by the day or for a whole month. Payment is also done in advance: The offer costs CHF 1.50 a day or CHF 25.- a month, and the first month is free. A swype in the app is all it takes to cancel the subscription at any time.

Anyone who would like to use swype in or from other countries can book the additional option “International” for CHF 3.-. This includes international calls from Switzerland to 25 countries as well as unlimited roaming with Internet use and calls in 25 countries.1
