Serbian IT entrepreneur numbers jump 73% in past two years

The number of IT entrepreneurs in Serbia has surged by 73 percent over the past two years, Tatjana Matic, state secretary for telecommunications at the trade ministry, said at Microsoft‘s Sinergija 17 conference in Belgrade.

Local media reported her as saying that the IT industry is expected to double the number of jobs in the next three years to about 6,000. She said that the share of IT exports of Serbia’s GDP is expected to rise to 1.5 percent over a three-year period, from 1.1 percent currently.
