E-commerce in Serbia grew by 32.8 percent in 2019, the State Secretary at the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, Tatjana Matic, told Tanjug.
“In November, the National Bank of Serbia released the information that payment transactions on the Internet for purchases of goods and services totalled 12.3 bln dinars in 2019, which is a major jump compared to the previous years,” Tatjana Matic said.
Citing data from the Bureau of Statistics, she said that about 1.8 million people purchased mostly clothing and sports goods online, followed by household goods, furniture and toys.
Also, holiday reservations and payments for arrangements with tour operators were frequently made using the Internet.

, rose by around 118 pct compared to 2017 and by as much as 302 pct compared to 2016, Tatjana Matic also said.
User penetration is 72.3% in 2020 and is expected to hit 84.3% by 2024. The average revenue per user (ARPU) currently amounts to €70.57.
