Rostelecom, a leading provider of digital services for the public, business and the state, reports that in less than two years the number of Wi-Fi access points for legal entities and individual entrepreneurs has reached 26,000.
The network allows legal entities and individual entrepreneurs to provide wireless Internet access to internal users using Wi-Fi technology in compliance with all the requirements of Russian legislation. The service is provided turnkey: together with the equipment and identification system. It is available throughout the country.
Rostelecom has extensive experience in deploying large distributed Wi-Fi networks. A large-scale verification of the company’s technical capabilities took place during the FIFA World Cup 2018, which took place in Russia this summer. During the championship, more than 144 thousand people at the stadiums and more than 43 thousand people in the fan zones of various cities of Russia took advantage of free Internet access via the Rostelecom Wi-Fi network. Users from 137 countries of the world successfully passed authorization, during the championship there was not a single failure registered. The total traffic consumption was 65 TB.
