Over half of Dutch makes calls via the Internet (OTT)

About 55 percent of Dutch makes calls via the Internet (OTT) compared to 23 percent in 2012, according to a study from Dutch statistics agency CBS.
About half of the Dutch population also watch TV online: 56 percent this year against 39 percent in 2012.

Especially increase sending messages via social media

More and more people are active on social media . In 2012, 62% of the population used one or more forms of social media. This share has increased to 85% in 2018. The use of social media for the exchange of messages, such as WhatsApp, has increased, from 30% in 2012 to 81% in 2018.

More and more people are also using social and professional services networks. In 2018, 62% of the population were on social networks such as Facebook and Twitter, while at the same time, 31%  was active on professional networks such as Linkedin. In 2012 this was still 48% and 19%.
