The legend of laptops will return as a smartphone: Meet Motorola ThinkPhone
For several months now we have been hearing or reading about a new smartphone belonging to Lenovo’s Motorola brand, the ThinkPhone model. The name of this device, of course, refers to the legendary laptops from the ThinkPad series, the history of which dates back to the times when IBM was responsible for them. Motorola has released a tweet to confirm that it will announce the Motorola ThinkPhone during the CES 2023 tech exhibition, which will take place between Jan. 5 and Jan. 8 in Las Vegas. The Lenovo-owned brand has claimed that the ThinkPhone is a “business-grade” smartphone. The image shared by the brand gives a glimpse of its design.

Motorola’s tweet is accompanied by the words “Business-grade upgrade”, suggesting that the new smartphone was designed primarily for business people. The Motorola ThinkPhone can be seen sporting a textured back. Reports have claimed that the device has an aluminum frame and “aramid fibre inlay” rear shell. A red-colored button can be seen on the edge of the device. The design of the phone is no secret since leaked renders that have surfaced so far have revealed its design from all sides.
Motorola ThinkPhone – specification
The unofficial reports so far related to the upcoming Motorola show that this smartphone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 system. The device will also be equipped with a triple set of cameras at the back, headed by the main unit with a resolution of 50 Mpix (Sony IMX766, PDAF, OIS). In addition, we are to receive a pOLED display, fast battery charging with a power of up to 68 W and the Android 13 system that watches over everything.
Availability and price
The Motorola ThinkPhone is scheduled to be officially unveiled at CES 2023, which will officially kick off on January 5, 2023 in Las Vegas (USA). Then we will get to know the full specification of the smartphone, and perhaps also its price.
