Mexican fixed-line plans are offering far higher internet download speeds and more minutes for voice calls than a year ago thanks to an improved competitive environment, according to a report from telecom regulator IFT.
The watchdog found that the speed of all single-play plans costing at least MXN 301 a month has increased to at least 10Mbps from 5-9Mbps a year ago. In addition all dual-play plans costing at least MXN 301 a month now come with unlimited minutes, compared to 83 percent of the plans a year ago.
