The number of Italians connecting to the internet from a PC or a mobile device climbed to an average of 33.4 million a day in September, up over 1 million from the previous month, according to the latest internet audience figures released by Audiweb.
The result is equivalent to over 69 percent of Italians aged 2 and over, with the majority of users aged 18 plus (29.8 million) connecting via a smartphone in September (67.1% of the total), followed by 17.2 percent who connected via a PC and 9.8 percent who used a tablet. In fact, Italy’s 18 to 74 year-olds spent over 87 percent of their online time on smartphones.

Total daily internet time averaged 4.44 hours in September, with 84.7 percent of people aged 25-34 using the internet on an average day compared to 80.2 percent of those aged 45-54 and 26.6 percent of those aged over 64.
In September, 57.7% of men were online , 53.9% of women and as far as the age groups most involved are concerned, in this month around 80% of them were online at least once on the average day. of adults between 25 and 54 years .
