Huawei Mobile donates 800,000 face masks to Dutch hospitals

Huawei Mobile Netherlands has donated 800,000 face masks to Dutch hospitals, the health minister Hugo de Jonge announced on Twitter. The first 200,000 masks are being distributed already to nursing homes and home care facilities.

The president and founder of Huawei, Ren Zhengfei, has donated a million face masks to Spain to make them available to the Spanish authorities for use in the fight against the expansion of Covid-19 in our country.

According to company sources explained to the Europa Press agency, this endowment was reserved for the staff and families of Huawei employees in China, but the improvement in conditions in their country and the severity of the condition currently in Spain has made to consider it more appropriate to donate them to our country.

The shipment arrived this Saturday first thing in the morning on the commercial Air China flight that connects Beijing and Madrid every day. After passing through customs with all the relevant information, the shipment has been made available to the competent authorities as essential medical equipment, according to the Decree Law of the State of Alarm.

Mango also joins the donation

Mango will also donate two million masks in the coming days. With this measure, the company says through a press release “it wants to collaborate to stop the Covid-19 pandemic and alleviate the serious social, economic and public health consequences it is causing.”

Mango will be in charge, through its own logistics, of distributing the two million masks among the different hospitals in Spain, “many of which are in short supply of essential medical supplies to carry out their heroic work.” The distribution, recalls the press release, will be done following the instructions of the Ministry of Health.
