Fitbit launches Fitbit Pay platform for public transport in Singapore
With SimplyGo, commuters can pay for public transport using their Mastercard or smartphone, which must already have Apple Pay, Fitbit Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay available
Fitbit has announced that customers in Singapore using a Fitbit Ionic, Fitbit Versa or Fitbit Charge 3 can now use Fitbit Pay on their device to pay for public transport. The launch is part of the Land Transport
Authority’s SimplyGo initiative, which allows commuters who are Mastercard card holders to pay for their commute from their wrist without carring a separate transit card, make top-ups upfront or pull out their wallet or phone.
“Singaporeans have always embraced new technologies that make life simpler and more convenient, and we are glad to be a part of the SimplyGo initiative that takes us one step closer towards a cashless society,” said Louis Lye, Fitbit’s regional director for Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
