The lead committee of the European Parliament on the new EU telecoms regulation has postponed its vote until September. The Industry, Research and Energy committee considered the draft reports on the proposed Electronic Communications Code at its latest meeting in Brussels.

This was expected to ready the committee for a vote at the next meeting in July. However, the large number of amendments proposed to the code has meant a further delay in the process. Once adopted by the committee, the code is expected to go up for a vote in the full European Parliament before year-end.
