Verbier’s superb skiing, state-of-the-art lifts, fine chalets and thriving après-ski proved a winning combination, as it was named ‘World’s Best Ski Resort’ for the second year running. The Swiss resort made it a double celebration with W Verbier collecting ‘World’s Best Ski Hotel’.

Perched on a sunny plateau at an altitude of 1,500 meters in the heart of the Swiss Alps, with its slate-roofed chalets, Verbier has carefully maintained its charm as an alpine village. This is the gateway to the 4 Vallées ski area – with nearly 100 lifts and more than 400 km of ski runs for all levels of expertise – but also a freeride paradise, a must for skiers from all over the world. Its “après-ski” is a real institution that welcomes a cosmopolitan clientele of all generations, not to mention the unforgettable nightlife.

World’s Best Ski Resort

Awarded « Switzerland’s Best Ski Resort » and « World’s Best Ski Resort » in 2021, Verbier also offers a rich variety of sport and musical events, such as Polaris Festival for electro music and the famous Xtreme Verbier – the Grand Final welcoming the best freeriders of the world to the impressive Bec des Rosses.

France took double honours in the newcomer categories, with Bear Lodge, Les Arcs named ‘World’s Best New Ski Hotel’ and Val-d’Isère’s ski-in, ski-out Chalet Abade recognized as ‘World’s Best New Ski Chalet’.

World’s Best Ski Boutique Hotel

Chalet Zermatt Peak, with unrivalled views of the Matterhorn, claimed ‘World’s Best Ski Chalet’, whilst Utah’s sumptuous Stein Eriksen Residences took ‘World’s Best Ski Boutique Hotel’. For more than thirty years, the Stein Eriksen Lodge has set and maintained the benchmark of unparalleled luxury and uncompromised service. The new Stein Eriksen Residences offer many of the traditions synonymous with its legendary namesake. A perfect blend of nature, amenities, and impeccable skiing, the Residences present an incomparable lifestyle for active individuals and families who prize an authentic, yet pampered, alpine living experience. The Residences reflect a quintessential ‘modern luxury’ look and feel. A fusion of imported marble, stone, and refined woods mark an architectural aesthetic inspired by a blend of contemporary and traditional design.
