The Las Hoces Cuenca Zip Line, a project that took four years and an investment of 400,000 euros to complete, has quickly become a must-visit attraction in the city. Cuenca, which is set to be the Spanish Gastronomic Capital in 2023, offers a mix of traditional tourist attractions and modern contemporary art exhibits at venues like the Museum of Abstract Art, Roberto Polo Collection, and Espacio Torner.

The zip line adventure begins in the Castillo neighborhood, located in the elevated section of the old town. From there, you’ll zip over 400 meters to the Camino de la Cueva de la Zarza, located near the Cuenca National Tourism Parador. The zip line reaches top speeds of 70 to 80 km/h, slightly slower than initially proposed to allow riders to fully appreciate the surrounding views.
The zip line’s location in the Hoz del Huécar area offers riders stunning natural scenery, while the city’s historic center, a World Heritage Site, provides a backdrop of iconic landmarks such as the Hanging Houses and the San Pablo Bridge. To ensure riders can enjoy the views, each is equipped with a parachute to slow their speed.
To ride the zip line, participants must weigh between 40 kg and 120 kg and be between 1.20 m and 2.15 m in height.
Operating Hours Europe’s Longest Zip Line
In June, the zip line operates on Fridays from 15:30-19:30 and on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00-19:30. In July and August, it operates from Monday to Sunday, with morning hours from 10:30-13:30 and evening hours from 17:00-20:00.

Tickets for the zip line are priced at 25 euros, with potential special rates for groups.
