CSL Acquires IoTM Solutions to Strengthen Global IoT Orchestration
CSL Group has acquired IoTM Solutions, bringing together managed critical connectivity, SIM-level resilience and multi-carrier orchestration in a deal aimed squarely at the next phase of global IoT deployment. CSL IoTM Solutions acquisition
The transaction addresses a problem familiar to almost any enterprise operating connected devices across several countries: connectivity rarely lives in one place. SIM inventories sit in one portal, eSIM profiles in another, usage data inside a carrier platform and support tickets somewhere else entirely. Add permanent roaming restrictions, local compliance requirements and network outages, and a supposedly scalable IoT estate can become surprisingly manual.
Financial terms were not disclosed. CSL says the acquisition will help customers manage those moving parts through a single operating model while preparing for wider adoption of the GSMA’s SGP.32 specification.
One view of a fragmented estate
Founded in 2015, IoTM Solutions has built a cloud-native, vendor-agnostic platform that connects carrier systems, Connectivity Management Platforms and eSIM workflows. It can support both new deployments and inherited estates, allowing customers to manage SIM lifecycles, profiles, usage reporting, APIs and support processes without constantly moving between operator portals.
According to CSL, the platform already manages more than 30 million SIMs, can scale to more than one billion and supports over 20 native CMP, API and carrier integrations, with access to more than 100 mobile operators. CSL itself manages more than three million connections across sectors including healthcare, security, utilities, infrastructure and transport.
That scale matters, but the more interesting part of the acquisition is operational. IoTM is not simply adding another coverage footprint. It gives CSL an orchestration layer above networks and platforms, while CSL contributes managed services and its patented rSIM technology, designed to provide SIM-level resilience when connectivity fails.

The IoTM team will join CSL, while the platform will continue supporting existing customers, operators and service-provider partners.
SGP.32 needs more than a specification
SGP.32 is designed for IoT devices that may have limited interfaces, constrained connectivity or no practical way for a person to intervene. The GSMA architecture supports remote eUICC provisioning and management, with components such as the eSIM IoT Manager helping coordinate profile operations across device fleets.
In practical terms, it promises a shift from SIM logistics to software-led connectivity control. Enterprises can potentially deploy a common device design, assign or change operator profiles remotely and manage connectivity policies centrally. However, a standard does not automatically remove commercial agreements, integration work, security obligations or local roaming rules. Those remain part of the real deployment.

That is the gap CSL wants the combined business to fill.

A broader market shift
CSL is not entering an empty field. Wireless Logic supports SGP.02, SGP.22 and SGP.32 across its eSIM infrastructure; Kigen offers an eSIM IoT Manager and orchestration platform; while 1GLOBAL and Transatel are also positioning around automated, multi-operator SGP.32 deployments. The competitive direction is clear: global IoT connectivity is moving away from selling access alone and towards managing profiles, policies, compliance and resilience as one lifecycle.
CSL’s distinction is its background in life-critical and business-critical environments, where a failed connection is not merely inconvenient. The acquisition therefore makes most sense for complex, multinational estates where uptime, carrier diversity and regulatory adaptation justify a managed layer. A small domestic deployment with one operator and a stable footprint may find the model more sophisticated than it needs.
What CSL still needs to demonstrate is how smoothly the acquired platform will integrate with its existing services, how pricing will work and how much operational control customers retain. “Single pane of glass” is useful only when it genuinely simplifies decisions rather than placing another dashboard above several old ones.
Conclusion
The significance of this acquisition is not that CSL can now offer more SIMs. Plenty of established IoT connectivity providers can do that. It is that CSL is assembling the operational stack around the SIM: orchestration, multi-carrier access, resilience, lifecycle management and preparation for SGP.32.
As the market matures, the strongest providers will not necessarily be those claiming the most countries or networks. They will be the ones that can keep devices connected when regulation changes, a carrier fails or an estate outgrows the platform that launched it. CSL’s purchase of IoTM Solutions is a credible move in that direction—but the real test will be whether customers experience one resilient operating model, rather than several technologies carrying the same logo.
