British Airways customers will soon be able to take advantage of a simpler luggage check-in process through a partnership with ViewTag®. british airways viewtag

ViewTag is a reusable, electronic bag tag that securely attaches to luggage allowing customers to take more control of their journey by tagging their own bags before they arrive at the airport. ViewTag is equipped with radio frequency identification (RFID), Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), and a digital display that shows the same flight information as traditional paper-based bag tags.

Using the British Airways mobile app, passengers can check in to get their boarding pass and synchronize that information to their electronic bag tag with a Bluetooth LE connection using their smartphone.

Richard Warther, CEO at ViewTag adds, “By allowing passengers to transfer their information digitally before they arrive at the airport, check-in is reduced to a matter of seconds.”

ViewTag app

To use the British Airways ViewTag, passengers need to download the ViewTag app on their smartphone, enter their flight details and generate a digital bag tag. The digital tag can then be sent to the ViewTag electronic bag tag, which is attached to the bag’s holder. Once the bag is checked in, passengers can track their luggage throughout their journey using the app.

The British Airways ViewTag offers several benefits for passengers, including the convenience of checking in their bags from home, avoiding the need to print out paper tags and reducing the risk of lost luggage. The ViewTag is also reusable, making it a more environmentally friendly option.

It is important to note that the British Airways ViewTag is not available on all flights or for all passengers, and it may be subject to certain restrictions and limitations. Passengers should check with British Airways for more information on the availability and use of the ViewTag on their specific flights.
