Banca Transilvania and Garmin launched the possibility of contactless payments through smartwatch on the Romanian market: the possibility of buying Garmin’s smartphone with the payment option by linking the Visa BT cards.
“We are pleased to add Garmin Pay to payment options for Transilvania Bank customers. As more and more people include the movement in their everyday lives, their needs are becoming increasingly different and move to simple and convenient choices. It would be freedom to buy with the smartwach at the end of a workout or run without having a card, or even a phone. This new option complements mobile payment solutions in BT’s portfolio and confirm our commitment to expand digital options by adapting to the changing lifestyle of our customers, “said Oana Ilas, Development and Management Product Manager at Banca Transilvania.
With the new payment option to merchants, Transilvania Bank customers have access to all the features and benefits they receive when paying with the physical or digital card in the BT Pay application, namely: STAR loyalty points (for card purchases ), respectively, Mylprijs (for travel maps).
“I’m pleased to announce Garmin Pay in Romania shortly after launch on Western markets. This is a very useful tool for those with an active lifestyle and for athletes who still need mobility. Garmin Pay is available on a number of Garmin smartwatches, and will be developed on new models with the launch of 2019 “,Alexandru Moise Sales & Marketing Manager Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and the Republic of Moldova, Garmin
With this launch together with Garmin, Banca Transilvania is still taking a step towards digitizing and delivering positive experiences to customers who now have less than 6 buy alternatives: with the physical card, with the digital card of the BT Pay application with one of the BT Pay collection accessories (watch, bracelet, all contactless) and from now on including Garmin smartwatch.
