Angola is to have as from this year a nationwide roaming service to face the frequent drop of electronic telecommunication network signal, said Friday in Luanda, the CEO of the Angolan Communication Institute (Inacom), Leonel Augusto.

The official made the statement when presenting the updated project on the Telecommunication white Book, Nationwide Roaming and the National Plans on Frequency and Numbering.

According the official, the projects which are current under public consultation before submission for government approval, follow in the ambit of the partition of infrastructures between the operators of the sector.

The telecommunication white book was launched for the first time in 2001-2010, with the goal to enable deep reforms in the sector.

The current updating of the telecommunication white book aims at co-leading the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) and the digital transformation.

The nationwide roaming service is an active partition service, which enables the user to activate and have access to telecommunication services, in zones where there is not signal of his operator.

According to Inacom CEO, the project foresees the mandatory implementation of the roaming service by the operators, so as to enable big and small operators to share infrastructures and have mutual benefits, with view to offer service of quality to the people.

Angolan telecommunication operators currently provide roaming service only for international calls through a convention with foreign operators.
