One in four Brits has already booked a flight or holiday for when the coronavirus crisis is over.
According to a Holiday Extras poll of 1,000 people, carried out earlier this week, 75% of respondents believe they will take a vacation this year.
More than one in five who have travelled within the last three months said they’d be on the first plane the government deems safe.
The poll comes as airlines, including Jet2.com and easyJet, launch their flight scheduled for winter 2020/21.
“What people get from booking a holiday isn’t just the holiday itself – it’s planning it and looking forward to it – and now more than ever people have time to make plans and need something to look forward to as soon as this is all over,” said Seamus McCauley, head of communications at Holiday Extras.
“Airlines bringing their winter schedules forward so that people can book now is sensible for those looking ahead to the end of the current crisis. It also gives everyone something to look forward to. I expect the first thing people will want to do when all of this is over, is hop on a plane and get right back to seeing the world.”
Holiday Extras is offering free cancellations for all bookings and has launched a new special offer where customers can buy airport parking or airport lounge access and get £10 of free holiday spending money on a Caxton currency card, to use in one of 14 currencies.
