59 percent of the French are aware of new roaming rules

Roaming specialist Syniverse reveals that the volume of mobile voice calls almost doubled since the roaming abolition in June and the number of text messages went up by a more modest 34%.

But mobile data grew by 308% year on year – implying that roaming data was more than four times what it was in July, August and September 2016.

French telecom regulator Arcep published the results of the annual survey on the adoption and use of digital tools in France and new infographic with facts about how French use new roaming rules.

According to the Eurobarometer, 59% of French people are informed that from 15 June 2017, they can use their mobile at the same conditions than in France, 12 points lower than the European average (71%).

It is obvious that French use their mobile phones more when abroad (EU).
