3 Denmark signs agreement with IoT connectivity provider NextM2M

Mobile operator 3 Denmark said it has signed an agreement with Danish company NextM2M, which provides Internet of Things (IoT) global plans. NextM2M will use 3 Denmark’s network and European roaming deals to support its range, and 3 Denmark in turn will supplement its portfolio of IoT services with products from NextM2M.

NextM2M is a specialist in machine-to-machine and IoT connectivity, aiming to provide the most efficient SIM card option to meet customers’ needs for IoT services such as sensors and alarms for rubbish bins and streetlights in various regions and across national borders.

It has customers in 60 countries worldwide, including Vodafone and JT. The deal will 3 Denmark covers the home country, Scandinavia, and the rest of the EU via roaming.

But despite NextM2M’s Danish roots, Denmark and Scandinavia have so far been uncultivated markets for the company, which is now preparing for launch at home.

3 Denmark offers IoT on a self-service basis through 3Business using the Cisco platform. Interested customers can request a free starter package from 3Business of three SIM cards with six months’ data, a live testing tool, developer support, and self-service module access. 3 Business provides IoT services to customers such as coffee machine maker Scanomat, road marker and survey equipment maker Tiny Mobile Robots, and GlobalConnect.
