Nine out of 10 smartphone users in Germany want more data

Nine out of ten smartphone users in Germany say they want larger data packages for their mobile devices, a new study from Telefonica Germany found. The study found that unlimited data surfing would also change user behaviour, with 35 percent of users saying they would stream more TV and video and 32 percent saying they would stream more music.
Twenty-four percent of users said they would use online navigation more, while 23 percent said they would send more pictures and video and surf more online.
O2 customers with large data packages already come to significantly more than 5 gigabytes of surfing volume per month.
More than every second smartphone user (58 percent) in Germany still uses a tariff with a monthly high-speed data volume of 2 GB or less. Every second smartphone user (52 percent) occasionally or regularly reaches the limits of their data volume.

There is an immense opportunity for mobile service providers to offer truly high-volume tariffs based on the needs of their customers.
